A professional photographer for over twenty-five years, Russell DeGaeto started his career in the photography field in a major fortune 500 company in New York. After working for a year and gaining the experience he needed, Russell decided to go it on his own. One Step Above Photo was born.

Shooting with medium and large format cameras enables Russell to capture the clarity and detail his work has been associated with. He does all his own darkroom work. Processing his own photographs ensures that he has complete control of each of his images.

Russell's work has been published and the fine art prints have been sold all over the world. His photographs, fine art and commercial, have appeared in several magazines, including Playboy, bon Appetite, and Gourmet to name a few.

Russell exhibits his work in several galleries and at juried fine art shows all along the east coast and as far west as Chicago. He has won over 100 awards and ribbons from some of the most prestigious art shows in America. His images hang in private and corporate collections, including that of a former President of the United States.

Russell has conducted photographic workshops not only privately but at St. John's University in New York City. He is an exhibiting member of the Michigan Guild of Artists and Craftman.
